At the end of October 2022, W. Doose Werkzeug - Vorrichtungsbau, Inh. Dr. Frerichs ("Doose") from Henstedt-Ulzburg had applied for the opening of insolvency proceedings at the District Court of Norderstedt.  The insolvency court had appointed Dr. Dietmar Penzlin, lawyer and specialist in insolvency and restructuring law, as provisional insolvency administrator.

The company has over 30 years of experience in tool and fixture manufacturing and operates at the highest possible technical level. In addition to CNC manufacturing, the company also uses state-of-the-art additive manufacturing processes (DED powder nozzle and SLM powder bed processes). Customers include well-known automotive manufacturers and full-service providers in the plastics industry.

Together with the management, Doose's business operations were stabilized in the opening proceedings. Pre-financing of insolvency payments was immediately initiated for the employees. Parallel to the continuation of business operations, an M&A process was started by the provisional insolvency administrator and his team together with the management consultancy Dresen Mall GmbH. In addition, together with the real estate consultancy RE_DOCK 55, the sale of the company property to another investor was initiated.

The insolvency proceedings have been opened on 1st January 2023 and Dr. Penzlin has been appointed as insolvency administrator. As of 1st March 2023, both the M&A process and the real estate sale were successfully completed. The PWF Group prevailed in the M&A process. The PWF Group, with its subsidiaries PWF-Kunststofftechnik GmbH and PWF Präzisionswerkzeugfabriken GmbH, has been operating in Glinde, east of Hamburg, for over 50 years. The buyer of the company is PWF-Doose GmbH. The successful transaction represents an important step on the growth path of the entire PWF Group.
